Automata Monk Alarm Clock
A French alarm clock with automata monk. The 30 hour clock movement set from the dial, causing the monk to pull his arm, which is attached to the bell in the tower, making it ring. 10 inches / 26cm High Circa 1890
Bracket Clock
George II period mahogany bracket clock of eight day duration with brass dial. The mahogany bell-top case stands 21” high, is well figured and has developed a good colour. The ormolu caryatid mounts are a pleasing original feature. The movement is of eight day duration with rack striking, sounding the hours on a bell with pull repeat facility. The back plate is well engraved and the original verge escapement is retained. The time is displayed via the original blued steel hands to the brass dial with raised silvered chapter ring framed by well cast spandrels. The dial centre carries a dummy pendulum and a date aperture. To the arch is a strike/silent feature to shut off the striking, should you so desire.
